MATTHEW FLAMINI, Ph.D.

Senior Design Engineer

Dr. Flamini (Senior Design Engineer) specializes in the design and development of medical devices. He is responsible for implementing product design, prototyping, and testing, as well as collaborating with ZSX's manufacturing partners. With a strong background in design and expertise in biodegradable polymers, he combines broad technical knowledge with a creative approach to problem-solving. His experience includes developing engineering drawings, rapid prototyping, and collaborating with vendors to bring products from concept to reality. Dr. Flamini is the recipient of the New Jersey Innovation Research Fellowship Program (IRFP) grant and the NSF INTERN grant, reflecting his commitment to advancing research-driven innovation. He completed Ph.D At Rowan Universities Department of Biomedical Engineering, with his dissertation being on the effects of laser zone-drawing on electrospun nanofibers.
